Where can I download the Tobba app and which devices is it compatible with?

The Tobba app can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play Store and is compatible with all smartphones and tablets. Kindly be advised that downloading from alternative stores is not compatible.

How do I set up a video consultation with a GP?

After downloading the Tobba app and configuring your profile, navigate to the “Appointments” tab. Click on “+Book Appointment” to choose between scheduling a video call with your preferred GP or finding the earliest available doctor. Pick your desired time slot and select your preferred payment method. Ensure to join the video call 15 minutes before the scheduled session.

*Due to the nature of these conditions, the GP may refer you for an in-person examination.

What's the GP waiting time on Tobba?

Choosing the first available doctor often results in receiving service on the same day, and in some cases, within a few minutes or hours.

If you opt for your preferred GP, the waiting time will be contingent upon the time slot you select, aligned with the doctor’s schedule availability as indicated on the app.

Can I choose a specific GP for my online consultation?

During the appointment booking process, you have the flexibility to select any of the GPs available on the Tobba app. You also have the option to select the earliest available GP for prompt service.

How can I get a sick certificate, new prescription or referral?

To obtain a sick certificate, a new prescription, or a referral, please schedule an appointment with any available GP on the Tobba app and request these documents during the video call. Within 1 hour after the consultation, you will receive a notification that the doctor has submitted the aftercare documents. You can view and download the documents anytime by clicking on “Appointments,” then selecting the “Completed” tab, and finally choosing “Aftercare” for your previous consultation.

Can I consult with a GP to book or discuss test results?

You have the option to schedule a video call appointment with any general practitioner to review your test results or to receive a referral to a healthcare facility or other units for booking a diagnostic test.

Do I receive follow up care post consultation?

During your video consultation, you’ll discuss any required documents with the GP, such as health insurance forms, prescriptions, sick certificates, and others. Within an hour after your consultation, you’ll receive a notification when the GP has uploaded the post-consultation materials. To access the “Aftercare” section, go to “Appointments,” then select the “Completed” tab, and choose “Aftercare” for your previous consultation.

Are video consultations covered by health insurance?

If you’re covered by health insurance, you can ask the GP to fill out your insurance paperwork during the video call to be reimbursed for the practitioner’s fee. Within an hour after your consultation, you’ll receive a notification to review the aftercare provided by the doctor. You can access and download these documents at any time by clicking on “Appointments,” then selecting the “Completed” tab, and choosing “Aftercare” for your previous consultation. Lastly, make sure to forward these documents to your health insurance provider.

Payments & Cancellations

How can I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

To cancel or reschedule an appointment, navigate to “Appointments,” then select the “Upcoming” tab. Click on “Details” for your upcoming consultation, and in the appointment details section, choose “Cancel.” After canceling, you’ll have the option to reschedule the appointment if needed.

Is a refund provided if I cancel my appointment?

If you cancel your appointment at least 24 hours before the scheduled consultation, the practitioner’s fee is fully refundable. However, if the appointment is within the next 24 hours, no refund will be issued. Please be aware that the platform fee of €2.45 is non-refundable in both scenarios.

How do I pay on Tobba app?

The Tobba app operates on a pay-per-use model, meaning you pay for each video consultation individually. We accept various payment methods, including:

Is my health information secure on Tobba?

The information collected on Tobba is used to confirm your identity. This data, along with the data exchanged in the chat, is solely utilized by the attending doctor to ensure effective and professional care. Information exchanged during video consultations remains confidential between you and the doctor, thanks to our end-to-end encryption. Our support team does not have access to your health data. Post-consultation, all exchanged information will be deleted, except for the aftercare documents and notes sent to you by the doctor

Are the GPs on Tobba fully qualified and registered in Malta?

All the GPS available on Tobba app are fully trained, qualified, and licensed to practice medicine in Malta, meeting the standards set by Maltese medical authorities for providing authorized medical care within the country.
